#BlgLif881 - Feministas how do you groom facial hair?

Song of the day - Looney Tunes Show Soundtrack - Moostache

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l99fBgyHQc

I wasn't sure I was going to post today. I was feeling emotionally yucky and wasn't in the mood until now.

No body pain today, so that's different, aside from a headache coming and going.

The other tooth came out today and because there is a gap, I feel self conscious.

I still don't know if it's worth looking for a dentist, as the other thing would be sitting in that rough decliner chair and my bones would be screaming after 10/15 minutes and what if it's an hour appointment?

I'm not sure I could physically cope with that. I would have no composure at all, plus what if it triggered an intense panic attack because of the pain?

I have all these thoughts in my head to consider before I do it because whatever happens, it's going to be really uncomfortable.

Anyway I decided to forget about that for the moment and do some grooming, which I usually leave until the weekends but I found it relaxing.

I epilated my legs which was easy, practically half legs, because as I've said, there's barely any regrowth as I've been epilating since I was a teenager or maybe early 20's.

And they did mention it's supposed to be a long-term permanent removal thingy, which I was sceptical about.

But a hell of a lot cheaper than electrolysis or laser. Now I don't usually talk about this because it's embarrassing.

We're females, we're not supposed to have facial hair but some of us do.

Mine's pretty aggressive over the lip, chin, neck area so I personally hate it and get rid of it, maybe weekly.

What do you do with yours? Some women ignore it, some bleach it to match their skin tone..

Others wax it off, maybe some thread it. There are no wrong or right answers, it's your body, do as you feel like.

For me I've typically just epilated and plucked it using tweezers, as the epilator struggles with fine tiny hairs.

I was hoping by epilating it would reduce or stop it and I feel like the opposite, there is more and more ugh!

Mine is noticeable, dark black hair, on a caramel skin tone so it shows up.

I don't know how visible it is with foundation on, as sometimes there is no time and I've forgotten to do it, so I hope it isn't highlighted on my face to the outside world.

But I feel better having tidied it up and gone back to being smooth.

Next week it might be the pedicures, massages and eyebrow shape, as I feel much healthier now.

I have to moisturise my legs as it won't stop itching after the epilator usage, I hate that.

Oh that was it, I binge watched the first season maybe of Pulse, I haven't checked if that was the last episode..

But it was like ughhhh really? That was the climax? It was interesting but they built it up and the revelation was a complete letdown.

I feel like they used the wrong term in sexual harassment, it should have been something else.

But even then, she's a grown woman that willingly went into a relationship with her superior.

He didn't force her, he didn't blackmail her, he wasn't sleazy. It was all above board.

It is sketchy him being more powerful and knowledgeable but again, he didn't say, date me or I'll flunk you.

She was flirting back as much as he was. That just annoyed me that she complained about him falsely and wasn't held accountable for trying to destroy his career.

Even if at some point she felt exploited, she could have turned around and said, I want to stop this relationship, because they were dating for a year.

I had no sympathy for her, she vexed me. Weirdly enough I didn't mind them re-uniting but she should have apologised to him for what she did, it just felt so wrong.

#BlogLife321 - Slow morning

It's 2pmish and I haven't had brekkie/lunch. I woke up a few times again last night and kept having strange dreams.

It wasn't nightmares just random oddness that I can't piece together but I managed to keep going back to sleep as I knew tomorrow would be a long day.

Popping out for a few things and hoping the nausea/cramps keep themselves at bay.

I really need to do some home beauty treatments. My nails are growing but keep chipping, I have to even them out.

Do you prefer square or round tips? Square for me as it makes it easier to file and maintain the shape so they all look the same.

No matter what I do, they remain weak and easily tearable. I also have to pluck my brows but I hate doing the right eye, it is so awkward.

I also have to epilate my legs, which I tell myself to do and then other things get in the way.

It's just mainly the lower legs because my thighs are mostly permanently smooth now, except the knees.

If I feel the back of my thighs, there hasn't been regrowth for ages. They do say long term epilating stops the hairs growing but I find it's only certain areas.

My arms and hands still have hair which is unfortunate but I've stopped removing it now.

I used to be self conscious about it but now I guess I'm not so worried about looking a lil scruffy.

Most of me is put together well, cute clothes, cute style, makeup at times.

Hair neatly put together, when I have the time so it just feels like a natural thing to leave it.

If you don't like it........Don't look at it!

For the first time in days, yesterday my lenses didn't fog up. I'm not sure if it was because it was milder but it was a joy not to have to take them out and re-insert just to see.

I've started putting the drops in the fridge, maybe that helped?

#BlogLife163 - Epilators - From hair to nowhere

What is an epilator?

For me it's a exorbitant miracle device. It's an electronic hair removal apparatus that uses tweezers to pull the hairs out.

What brands have I used?

I think I've only used two. Braun which cut my legs to shreds and was really painful and broke and Panasonic which was a lot less irritable and easier.

The braun lasted a year and died. The first Panasonic lasted four years and the second one is going on now for seven years which I find astounding!!

What is the rough cost and do you have any tips?

At around £80 you better believe I searched everywhere on preservation tips and the best one was..... As soon as you finish using it, rinse the head under the tap to avoid clogs and eventual ruin.

Does it hurt, tell the truth??!!

People kept saying if you can handle waxing, you can take an epilator. I only found my armpits painful when it came to waxing.

Oh except for the bikini line, never again. Oh wait, the back of the legs are no picnic either.

There are so many different kinds, wet and dry, ice, specific regions, corded/uncorded..

I must have watched a dozen youtube videos and cringed. I read what seemed thousands of reviews and did my research for this epic investment.

For waxing you need a certain amount of growth but for epilating it is supposed to work on short hairs also.

Another tip for razor bumps/burn is aloe vera. That stuff is gold. Exfoliating regular is also a must and as painful as it makes it, go slowly, not fast, to get to the roots.

What is your recommendation?

If you can afford it, definitely go for the wet and dry, that is a game changer!! It's almost fun to use it in the shower and it hurts a lot less.

Where do I use it?

Arms,

Hands,

Chin,

Lip,

Armpits (which often catch a bit of skin and hurts)

Legs/Thighs,

Bikini (I tried once and I actually think it was so painful I may have wept lol)

Where have I seen a difference in less growth?

My arms, my chin, my legs, mostly my thighs. The hairs used to be really dark and then became softer, thinner and a bit lighter.

My thighs especially have patches of no hair growth at all anymore.

A final confusing confession

When I was really little I was fascinated about shaving so I tried it once and that coupled with the handheld tweezing, made it go from a few hairs to a lot more.

There is now quite a few which I hate but the weird thing is, the right side of my face has stopped hair growth but the left side has a lot.

Maybe I haven't been epilating properly.....?!
