#BlogLife1124 - You two don't belong together...... Or do you?

Overall Asda and Iceland remain my favourites for the food quality.

Trying different supermarkets opened me up to foods I hadn't tried before, that was a lot of fun.

I just realised though, I think they all charge for delivery and that's minus the discounts but Iceland doesn't.

I just have to spend £40 so I'll be sticking with Iceland, until I need contact lens or beauty stuff or something else, I can't get.

I needed a lot of householdy things, so did a basic shop and I didn't want peanut butter or chocolate spread or cheese for the sandwiches, so I thought is this too weird...?

Apple sauce and a biscuit spread or maybe each on their own? I mean why not?

If I hate it, there's salmon spread, baked beans, turkey rashers or eggs.

I need variety, otherwise I'll get sick of the same ol same ol.

I feel like everyone has cleaned out the lolly section in Iceland as there was hardly anything available.

I could have picked the almond majestic but nope I got the Calypo lemon and orange.

I don't know if I need lollies, it's a mix of cool and warm now.

I keep being tempted by jam and marmalade, but it's so sickly sweet. I wish it wasn't.

The other option was tinned fruit but I didn't bother. I'm craving fruit juice but it will have to be fruit lollies instead.

I have just tried out Colman's apple sauce 155ml for £1.80 ouch, I didn't look at the size.

I assumed it was large akin to the picture but it's baby sized.

It's not too sweet but nice and tasty, soft but not too runny, small chunks of apple, it's perfect, just should be a lot larger.

Then I grabbed Nutini's 300g for a £1 (much better value) biscuit spread and toasted my wholemeal bread, a lil too aggressively oops..

and spread them each on one side. The biscuit spread just smells like digestive biscuits..

It was delicious. To be honest, I need to be heavy handed with the biscuit spread, it didn't taste of much, the apple flavour took over.

But I think the blend of the two was magical. I need to refrigerate the apple sauce and the biscuit spread is fine in the cupboard.

What do we call it? Saucy appiscuit? Saucy biscapple? I'm glad I bought it. It's a relief it works.

It doesn't taste like a mouthful of sugar. Maybe it's a lil healthier..

Today is a Bank Holiday so I wasn't sure whether or not to post or just relax.

I've been mostly sleeping well and I think I'll start using the heated blankie in the mornings to fast track the healing.

It's not sharp pain as such, it's dull but it's creeping toward a bad strain, where I could be totally immobile and on bed rest and that's what scares me.

I just had a nice breakfast at 2pmish. I didn't feel hungry before.

I just decided to do some eggs, turkey rashers, do some toast, spread some salmon paste, as I don't have butter and put it all together..

Oof I am so glad I only did one sandwich. I am stuffed, it was great.

Because I haven't done eggs in the panini press, I forgot how messy it is.

I usually line it with butter or the dry oil cooking spray and I forgot.

Today I remembered but still the butter spray is awful, it barely coats it, maybe the sunflower was my favourite.

Anyway Googly had a tip. When you unplug the press, get a warm kitchen towel and place it on there, close the lid and leave it for a few minutes..

It sorta worked and I had to gently scrape the rest. Today I think the rest of the dirt will come loose and it will be properly clean.

Let's go check. I used cold water because my hot tap is really stiff and I can't turn it much, just a drip comes out..

When the boiler maintenance people come, I might ask if they can loosen it, it didn't seem that bad before...

Yea it did the trick, it's almost spotless but it has a lot of wear and tear the lid handle is damaged so to shut it tightly I just rest tins on top and it's fine.

I've been cramping, bloated and a lil nauseated but still no monthly.

I guess this month it is skipping or maybe at midnight..

#BlogLife1111 - More weird foodie combinations.. Introducing croiss-oras :)

Hmm dips was really the other thing I should have gotten, to not make the sandwiches/crackers too dry.

Anyway I kinda fancy croissants and the pakoras, so I might mix them together..

I don't think the pakoras came with a dip. I'll add pimento olives, cheese and maybe break up some pakoras and stuff it in the croissant...

I'm liking the meat free meals, more and more. I'm not fully converting to being a veggy but the break away is nice.

What do we call it? Croiss-oras? Ha! It's nearly 2pm, I should have eaten ages ago.

I'm still in that, hungry, not hungry, not sure phase, but I don't want it to go any later.

Ok disappointing, the pakoras taste nice but they are onion bhajis, missing those pakoras herbs and spices.

I'll enjoy them, but it's not the same as biting into a real pakora, that burst of a zillion flavours, maybe slight hint of spice..

Anyway, it's unfortunately typical in the supermarkets, they can't tell rotis from wraps, nor pakoras from bhajis...

Thumbs down!

I quite like that combo, olives, cheese, croissants and pakora. It's tasty.

Yes it needs a dip, hummus or garlic and onion. Also the chilli cheese is very mild, the cheese is a bit strong, not mild, my preference..

But for something different, I like it. It's good to switch up, not huge on spice, but in tiny doses, I can tolerate it.

Another twist that I randomly thought of, is a hit :) Later on, I don't really know what I fancy.

Most of the meals got low scores, so it was a bit offputting.

I just checked the packet and it felt like I had 2x croissants but I only had one, I kinda broke them into sections so I could stuff them.

There was only room for the cheese and olives mainly, I had to squish the pakoras but yea it was great and after the hula hoops, I'm stuffed but I might get dessert...

There's cake or cereal bars or lollies.. Yum... Although, the cramps, nausea and bloating are increasing.

I hate pmt time..

I decided to combine the Rana mozzarella and garlic gnocchi  dumplings with the limited edition Morrison Marry Me girasoles, basically ravioli type pasta stuffed with chicken, tomato, ricotta and mascarpone cheeses.

I'll add olives at the end. I'll check after 5ish minutes. I'm peckish but not starving because the cramps are bothering me.

I just want a quick small dinner and then I'll sip water or have an ice lolly later, to try and settle my tum.

I'm not sure which binaural video to play, anti nausea? Cramps? Or the pmt one?!

Right, it cooked perfectly, but the water didn't evaporate, so I just drained it.

The gnocchi is a bit bland, nice but missing black pepper, more herbs. I expected more.

The chicken pasta one is spectacular, lots of flavour, I expected to like this less.

Now I'm really glad I put them both in the same them bowl together.

The chicken one should not be a limited edition one, it's too good.

At least my tum has settled and adding the olives, just gave it an extra bite of flavour.

#BlogLife1016 - Pakora egg turkey sandwich (pakeggkey)

I can't think of a clever name for this foodie concoction but the crusty rolls and baguettes turned out not to be crunchy ughh.

That was the only reason to get non wholemeal, oh well I put together a sandwich, my version of the eggy muffin.

But mine had a lil butter, a lil mayo, will bypass that, it didn't need it.

Broken up turkey rashers, think I cooked for about 10 minutes, some egg mayo, some cheese and that was it.

Pretty good but it was missing something, so I had heated up some pakoras on the side and I thought...

Hmm... Dare I add it to the sandwich and I put it on top and yummy, that worked really naturally, the potato, the lil spice kick, the veggies.

Who knew that would be so tasty?! Pakeggkey? Utterly ridiculous name but fabulous meal.

I was even going to add some chicken or beef, so glad I didn't. That was fulling enough, I had 2x, I should have only made one..

But they were smallish. I just tried the last of the chocolates I bought Mama.

The Baci dark chocolate nutty truffle, wrapped in foil, not a strong bitter taste, good blend of nuts but hardly any sugar.

These all taste like diet chocolates, the Divine, the Montezuma, although those two had gone off I think.

I don't recommend any of them if you have a sweet tooth. I might just stick to Ferreros and Green and Black, those were good.

Just because it's dark chocolate doesn't mean it can't be tasty and sweet yeesh.

In comparison the Iceland low calorie chocolate bars still have a great taste and are just a 100 calories or less.

But hardly any of those have nuts, although actually the Kellogs cornflakes one I can't stop buying and that's plain but it hits the spot.

This week will be really long unfortunately, tomorrow is the standard UC appointment.

Then the twit advisor booked me into a group cv session for an 1 hour and a half, 90 bloody minutes on Thursday..

I am going to be in so much pain, going out twice and trying to sit for that long.

I'll be lucky if I don't burst into tears from the discomfort that's going to roll all over my entire body.

He's such a bully, he already scheduled me in for CV support, so why I'm doing another one is beyond me, especially when he admitted it's fine as it is! Ass!

I don't know if I'll feel like posting this week, we'll see. I might get Chinese on Thursday, I don't know.

Yea I'd like to avoid spending money but I don't know if I'll be able to move, after Thursday's meeting, plus it's a group thing I hate those.

I bet he's spiteful enough to book it upstairs. Well forget it, I'm not putting my health at risk to please him.

For reference stairs make me dizzy, big steps or climbing feels like my insides are tearing and lastly, my whole body goes stiff and locks up and the pain lingers for a long time.

The stress is definitely back! Ugh nothing is going right, the wifi is playing up.

Youtube on the laptop won't work but it does on the phone. I'm trying to add attach files to an email to print out and it keeps failing.

I should get ready soon. I hope the UC twit accepts my paperwork, yeesh.

I don't hear anyone else being asked to hand over their phone. I even switch to mobile data and that didn't help, still not saving onto the email.

You'd think I was using dial up or mobile, not regular broadband. Oh doing 1 file at a time worked cripes.

I'm just gonna say the truth, that I'm having trouble with wifi, if he says Oh that's not enough, schmuck.
