#BlogLife636 - Snap me up with your eyes..

Song of the day - Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello - Senorita

I think I had about two saline bottles left and I am at the end of my cleaning solution for my rgp contact lenses so I decided to see if I could get some bargains.

Yes and no really. I got two Avizor cleaners for £16 ouch, I wanted to get the Ote because they have been formulated to be gentle and everything else burns my eyes but it's too expensive.

I think it's like £10 or some nonsense for 1 bottle. I did have better luck with the saline, I've seen one bottle for £8 but bulk buying is better and I got 4x for £15 because there was an additional discount at the til.

I didn't have a great morning on one hour's night sleep. It was my own fault this time, I had an all nighter with a random, we were just having a laugh and it was cute.

But then I just kept dry heaving all morning, really severely. I could have looked at the international shop full of goodies but I've got snacky stuff at home.

It was a really mild day and I layered up just in case. On second thoughts, after trying all the dips, I actually just favoured the onion and garlic one.

I will buy it as a single pot, next time. Hmm L just asked me about G, which is a big coincidence.

I haven't gotten back to her but it reinforces the feeling that I did the right thing in cutting him off.

Noone should set out to offend people. If you're acting or saying something controversial, then take responsibility for being a horrible human being.

I'm very careful about what I say and do and try to be respectful of others and not treat them badly, unless they are provoking me or something about them is rubbing me the wrong way.

Sometimes by not laughing and joining in and disassociating from certain types of unkind people, we can give them a new point of view to discover.

That says, you don't have to agree with me or think the way I do but you definitely have to look at the type of person that you are and question if that's appropriate, to live and act that way.

You can't pretend you're nice in one breath and then say something incredibly rude and hurtful in the next and expect people to remain friends with you.

Life doesn't work like that!

Beauty topup

I got my Asda shopping earlier and was gutted to learn that my saline and a few other bits were out of stock grrr. I have no luck with the damn saline but have bought it from Amazon because of necessity.

A 3 pack of 500ml for £11.25. It's not ideal but larger than the size I usually purchase, plus it will last me a while.

I also got confused and thought that the Asda charcoal face wash was out of stock too so I bought another one from Ebay. The same L'oreal Flowers I bought previously. It's lush.

It turns out that it was the face mask, that was unavailable. All these amendments are confusing me.

I'll review the Asda wash and face mask when I've used it as my current one is almost empty. I hopped online to find a deal and wowser. It presented itself.

It was probably newly listed and I jumped at the chance. I'm not big on brands unless it is important like eyecare. I also don't want it to be so basic that it will irritate my skin.

Anyway the price was a mere £1 and postage was £2.90. I knew that I was prepared to spend up to £4 for a face mask but at a decent size and this was 200ml.

It's funny the postage is higher than the item. The make is Rivage which I have never heard of so I googled the worth and it is priced at £26!!!!

I don't know why the seller was selling it so cheaply but bargain of the century. Obviously I have to try it first but it was cheaper than all the rest and I hope it isn't a peel off version. They are so wrong ickity!

I would have tried out the Asda brightening gel mask for £2.25 and that is only 100ml. Ebay does have a lot of bargains if you shop at the right time.

I really love the Asda beef and vegetable pasties, they are like mini pies and are so tasty as a snack. At one point they had stopped them but either it is temporarily back or it is a seasonal thing.

Next I'll either get some nightshirts or a new top. I haven't decided yet..

Ebay deal

I was searching high and low for a good deal for my replacement laptop on Argos, Amazon, Groupon, Wowcher etc.

I didn't really see anything appealing in the specifications I required.

I wanted at least 8gb ram for all the multi tasking I do, having about 5 tabs open and 2 browsers to switch between.

Bluetooth was essential for the headphones I wear to tune out background noise, especially if I'm writing really late at night.

Big screen because it just makes everything better.

I would have liked another Lenovo but they too pricey, too small and less powerful so it would have meant downgrading.

HD was a bonus and I wanted a loud crisp sound so hopefully the stereo speakers are adequate.

In my experience laptops have such low sound, you need external speakers attached.

It would be nice if it's really bright too as my eyesight is so poor.

You have no idea how irritating it is typing with half a keyboard. Blogging on my phone just doesn't have the same feel.

I'm losing my enthusiasm for it. I saw the 20% off in Ebay, craftily capped at £75 and looked through all the participating stores.

Most of them as you would expect are second hand but I was only interested in the brand new models and after browsing them all found a deal I was happy with.

It ticked all my boxes and was priced at £400 but I paid £325. It is my first ever Chromebook.

I've never purchased one before and hope it will last a good few years.

It's silvery black which is so boring. I wanted something red or purple.

Apparently I can put Firefox and my adblocker/lastpass extensions on it, which had worried me.

I read some reviews and watched some YouTube videos but couldn't see my exact model.

I love how companies are quick to offer next day delivery and then when you read the miniscule fine print, there are serious stipulations attached.

It's predicted to arrive roughly on Tuesday, by an unknown courier. I always hope for Royal Mail or somebody narrowing down a timeslot.

I know its a rush job and I could have spent longer searching but the laptop is dying. It won't even charge now and I need a working keyboard again.

I really hope I made the right choice. How much more different could it be to a Windows laptop?

Latest product tests

Product testing is never guaranteed to be a sure thing and is quite rare to be selected so I always find it a joy no matter what the object ends up being like.

I've been doing it for over a decade now so am quite used to writing reviews at the end of it and I always try to find at least one positive and one negative feature to include.

It's a shame others don't do that though because it is assumed most of the people testing it for free or at a substantial discount are totally biased and obligated to give only positive feedback where in reality most retailers or companies want honest criticism.

I want to help future buyers and the company itself so I just try it out as fully as I can and then jot down notes and viewpoints as I try it and then a week or so later will complete my evaluation and submit my detailed report.

Currently I just got accepted to test out a cleanser worth £30. The most I ever pay normally is £3. I'm not into labels, just high performance

I just finished my headphones test which was fun. I've done a few of these and love having a spare set.

It's a shame a few of the companies are no longer around but I appreciate the ones that are.

One of the establishments I regularly post reviews on (with my disclaimer) did remove some of my test reviews which is a shame but I just end up contacting the seller directly and posting my review that way.

I like reading detailed reviews before I purchase something, it always gives me tips and a rough guide of what to expect.

I try to be helpful when I compose mine but frankly some things that arrive are just alien to me so I have to muddle through and do my best. Not everyone can be an expert and a good mixture of feedback is healthy.

It really irritates me when another reviewer negates someone else's opinion just because it differs. Not everyone will be the same or use it for the same purposes.

Just respect the perspective, agree to disagree, unless it is something vital like a proper fact which contradicts everyone else.
