#BlogLife8833 - Chatty Chicks Watching Flicks 17 - Bridget Jones 4

I was searching for something new to watch and up it popped, Bridget Jones 4, I wasn't sure what to expect.

I didn't see any spoilers or watch any trailers, I wanted to be surprised at the developments.

Hmm we gained Hugh/Daniel back and lost Darcy/Colin. I hate that.

There seem to be even less laughs than the third installment. She's still enduring judgemental dinners.

Still romanticising, every guy to be perfect for her. Why would you date someone that much younger?

Why would you rush it, knowing this is your first date in 4 years? She still isn't thinking anything through, will she ever grow up?

And flipping hell I wish she would fix her damn hair! She maybe digging the younger guy, half her age, but we all know she'll end up with the rule stickler, the teacher.

I kinda wish she would pick someone more free spirited, less uptight, less perfectish.

This is the worst film in the franchise to date. I don't recommend it, maybe it will get better.

I'm halfway through. So he just ghosted her? After saying I wish I had a time machine?

But I mean really, she is twice his age with 2 young kids, was it ever going to be serious? Noooooooooo!

Just block and move on! Does she ever learn? Trying an experimental lip serum?

Now she looks like a damn puffer fish! You're a Mama now, come on think!!

Not even the return of Hugh Grant could save this trainwreck. It was depressing, disappointing and a snooze fest.

Don't waste 2 hours of your life watching it. I don't know why, it just annoys me.

Maybe because I was looking for growth and maturity and it's just the same floundering.

I constantly feels like she's looking for a guy to save her instead of embracing a lil independence.

And with the men that were there, it just lacked chemistry. It was a film, I wanted to get lost in and feel warm and fuzzy.

Instead I raced through it, pleading for it to be over.

#BlogLife614 - Where am I spending Christmas?

Song of the day - Bindley Benjamin - SOS To Santa

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr_CaSsFNLA&list=PLC743C3F57E46E499&index=49

Mama finally got back to me and said it will just be us for the holiday festivities woop!

It's such a good feeling to have an answer.

So that's it. I'm definitely off on Friday to her place which is in the UK also.

You didn't really think I was going to narrow down the precise destination did you?

Grins, that's not really me, the blogger you somewhat know and tolerate ha!

Ugh the flipping neighbours won't silence themselves.

Either it's a domestic, a loud call, kids or somebody wandering around being noisy at 2.30amish.

Mama's got the sniffles unfortunately. I told her to keep hydrated and rest up.

She didn't sound great so I'm hoping it quickly passes and she's more herself and happier.

I don't really buy or take medications any longer.

I rely on binaural beats and/or essential oils.

I don't recall ever having a flu jab. What I do is continually use the antibacterial hand sanitizers as soon as I return indoors.

Plus purchase antibacterial hand-wash and that's basically it.

The peppermint is good for cold, flu and cough symptoms.

Which is what I used to sprinkle on a tissue or on my pillow.

However the lemon one blows it out of the water.

I felt stuffy or had a lil cough or the minor sniffles and liberally doused the pillows with the lemon..

Next day I felt completely normal and cured so I wanted to get Mama some but because of Christmas they might arrive late.

I don't think she has any. She swears by ginger water or tea I'm not sure.

I think the oils will benefit her though.

I got lemon and then lavender to relax her and help her sleep.

I can't stand that scent but she likes it. Eucalyptus was an option also but I was drawn to the lavender.

She's not an insomniac like me. She sleeps fairly easily but sometimes can't drift off or can't get back to sleep.

Maybe these two oils will be a boost to her routine.

*Holds hand up guiltily*

The Ferreros didn't make it. They just looked too yummy and my snack rations were dwindling.

I ate both packets, not at the same time, separate occasions.

It's something I'll consume once or twice a year only, even though it's a favourite.

Chocolate is too moreish. I tend to stick to the low calorie versions.

Typically the Fibre One range or Iceland's Skinny or Bliss or whatever they keep changing it too.

I miss the mint chocolate one, that was tasty. I haven't watched Muppet Christmas Carol that's on the Christmas binge list.

If there's humour and some heartfeltness in the film that's normally a winning combination for me.

I do particularly enjoy the writer/foodie films and Yes Chef Christmas was a good one.

#BlogLife575 - Chatty chicks watching flicks 7 *My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3*

I still haven't found a new television show to get hooked on but as I was browsing I saw that My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 had been released.

And even though I was starting to get tired I decided to watch some of it and then eventually the whole thing.

Ian Gomez, John Corbett's parents, Michael Constantine were all absent. The latter was because he passed away.

For a second I wondered if there was a new actress playing Paris' role but nope.

This was a more cuter, sweeter, less comedic film, although there were still amusing bits scattered throughout it.

I'm glad that the majority of the cast returned.

I'm a bit annoyed Iceland is having issues so I can't place an order, I had to use Ocado instead but it did remind me that I needed things that Iceland doesn't have so maybe it's a good thing.

Anyway the film was a tribute to Gus and his roots and going back to Greece for a reunion and so that Toula could bring his journal to his friends as a keepsake.

Maria his wife was only seen in short intervals, maybe the actress is poorly, I'm not sure, but she was missed for the majority of the film.

A few things bugged me about it. Ian the hubby, kept receiving welcoming gifts and although he learned Greek, seem to have forgotten so instead of saying thank you, he kept bowing.

Ugh, just express gratitude!!

Secondly the women were swimming in the lake and then I think it was Nick is seen at the waterfront, naked cupping his privates...

Ummm ewww. Why?? That's around your family, your niece, your Aunts. Why would you strip naked??

Gross! The actual wedding, was not who I thought. I assumed it would have been Paris getting hitched, even though she is really young but it wasn't.

What a morning. I had to do an Ocado shop in the end as Iceland website was acting up.

I was looking forward to all the goodies arriving and then when I check my emails. Cancelled grr!!

I had to do a same day delivery instead from Iceland which cost £4 instead of free delivery.

Ugh annoying, I know it's only £4 but it should have been free and I can't be bothered to deal with customer services about it.

At least I slept in a lil bit, until 10amish, instead of getting up at 7am, in case the shopping came early.

I decided to reply to D, Thursday night I think it was. I couldn't sleep and it felt normal to get back to him, as it was about 2 weeks that had passed.

He kept me waiting that long, so I did the same. I wasn't sure if he was fading me out but I thought if it happens, it happens.

I was really surprised to get a response from him so soon, this morning (Saturday).

Well technically it was Friday night but I didn't check my email then.

I was laughing reading it because he didn't see the connection with the timing at all.

He was just disgusted/disappointed/sorrowful that it took me 15 days to reply.

I had to point out that it was the same time as his prior response and that two weeks waiting time is cruel. Haha!!

It amuses me that some men don't realise their own behaviour until it's done to them and suddenly their eyes are open to it.

Every now and then the penpal requests still strickle in, some are spam, well most are.

A few are genuine but with no personal details provided. I need age, location is less important, although if there is a language barrier..

I am not open to that all, seems more a hindrance! Gender is important also, just for a sense of, do I have to be careful about what I say and how it is interpreted??

Most come off as romantic, even though they all say the same thing.

We loved your advert. Ahem, did you actually read it? I'm sure one of the many amendments was, I was after platonic friendships, not lovely dovey declarations!

#BlogLife398 - Chatty chicks watching flicks 5 *Christmas edition*

Men are always welcome too but have absolutely no remote control privileges sorry.

I've been in the mood to watch some Christmassy romantic comedy movies so I thought I would list some of my favourites in no specific rank..

1. Undercover Christmas/Undercover Lover

I love Tyne Daly and she plays the heroes mama. It's about this dollybird (Jami Gertz), let's call her who is in love with a criminal, who doesn't treat her well but pays her expenses so she's tolerates it.

Then an uptight lawyer (Shawn Christian) with a stick up his butt, coerces her to turn against him and they end up spending Christmas together.. Awkwardly but hilariously, with his whole snobbish family.

2. Flight Before Christmas

I'm trying not to give too many spoilers away. A man (Ryan McPartlin) is travelling home to see his long-distance girlfriend and a woman (Mayim Bialik) is also travelling home to see her family.

The two of them bicker and banter and end up spending the holidays together in less than ideal circumstances which make them reflect on their other relationships..

3. Christmas Caper

A bit different this one. A jaded thief (Shannen Doherty) gets into hot water and hides out with her estranged family and then bumps into her childhood sweetheart who is also...... A cop.

4. Holiday in Handcuffs

A struggling waitress/artist (Melissa Joan Hart) is due to travel home with her boyfriend to spend the holidays with her family who have high expectations of her.

She resorts to unexpected measures when her plans go awry and must resort to kidnapping to keep up appearances...

5. A Very Merry Mix Up

A woman (Alicia Witt) is travelling home to meet her boyfriends parents and bumps into his brother, who enjoys spending time with her, a lil tooooo much but are the feelings reciprocated??? Hmm...

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

I feel like it's more enjoyable when the heroine isn't simpering and agreeing to everything like a stepford wifey.

Instead when she has confidence and conviction, even if they always make her this cold, hard nosed person, it's still more entertaining.

I could watch the above a hundred times and not get bored of them. It's just great when they inject some humour into these movies.

I might add to the list, as there are so many that I like and five doesn't seem that much at all.

Ooh I just got the first of my goodies at 10.55am. I always like to note down the times to gaige for next time.

It's my Murine eye drops. These are the Refresh and Clean types and I've tried the brand before but not sure which version.

I'm trying to find some drops that I really loved that I didn't note down.

It's not Blink, it's not Supereyes, I'll have to keep trying them out.

I think I've broken the spell, I haven't thrown up today but my stomach is still wobbly.

I'm trying to sip a lot and listen to subliminals that work for me. Plus eat some food that I hope will stay down.

On Monday I think it was I started my period and it was super light and by Tuesdays it had finished.

I'm still getting the nausea and slight cramps and definite bloating though.

The advice was, the more puffy you feel, the more you should drink, but sometimes I find that brings on the nausea too.

It's weird, I'm just trying to be productive and keep things moving along so I'm not overwhelmed.

Plus napping is immensely therapeutic. My body and brain get to rest and not get over-strained for a bit.

Oh my skirt and top is out for delivery so that is not due until the afternoon or evening.

As per usual the tracking is stuck but it's due with Yodel and I think they usually make it on the day, they say they will.

If there is still natural light, I'll try to take some images, otherwise it's just too dark and I can't see that well so it's blurry.

#BlogLife361 - Chatty chicks watching flicks 3

Am I getting to be an expert in holding back the tears? Maybe as this is the second time I've been able to do it and I could feel it wanted to burst out after the ordeal with the stairs.

I've just finished a late lunch/early dinner as it's 4pmish and I couldn't face food prior as I was feeling sicky as usual.

Yeesh it's like having pms/pmt 24-7. Anyway this this time I remembered to get a drink, the body craved fizzy so fanta is was.

The original. I prefer that and some sandwiches, pasta, berries and sticky toffee pudding but I don't fancy the desserts so they are up for grabs on the table over there..

I know that I have to get up, take the bin out and put the rest of the food in the fridge but I can't face it yet.

Laying sprawled out feels too good. I did have a breakthrough yesterday for the story I'm working on, I want these to be my own creations not the same as everyone else's.

I just have to type it up. I'm halfway through The Mirror Has Two Faces with Barbra Streisand and it's such a great film for comedy and romance.

Gentle, old fashioned type, which is why I've seen it a million times and haven't got bored of it.

There is a bit of bad language which was unnecessary but meh, it happens.

I've just sorta realised that for somebody that didn't wanna be judged on her own looks and wanted someone to see her truth she herself was shallow.

She had a decent guy pursuing her but kept standing him up instead of giving him one chance and then deciding, well I've made a decision based on our date..

Jeff Bridges is better looking but then he got caught on the superficiality of looks until he realised that they weren't his type intellectually.

He wrongfully guessed that he couldn't have romance and attraction but one or the other.

The problem was Rose was already deeply attracted to him and frustrated he wasn't physically attentive, just emotionally.

Then queue the misunderstandings that resulted afterwards..I I think he was pleased with her looks though, it just didn't overpower him, at first.

As they got closer and shared their common interests, it developed slowly and he fought it all the way, quite insultingly to any woman.

The fact that she had to ask for sex, still makes me choke with laughter!!

Men are visual creatures, wear something figure hugging, lean over them, look adoringly at them, bite your lip, flick your hear, stroke your neck, damn woman, seduce him lol.

I mean, could you do that? Pretend you were a spinster and gave up on all hope of finding someone.

Your confidence was knocked. You didn't feel desirable but you knew inside you had brains and substance, humour and were good company, men just couldn't see it.

Someone out of the blue, comes along and says let's have a sexless marriage but aside from the physical, we'll talk properly, we'll date, we'll build a life together....

We'll commit. What would you do?? Would you be tempted??

I don't know how I'd feel, my initial reaction would be a refusal.

No hugs, no kisses, no snuggling??!! The big thing is that they aren't attracted to me, that would cut my ego to shreds.

I would feel like a stand in, until he strayed and found someone he actually did fancy.

But on the other hand, you'd have a friend by your side, sharing your struggles and good news.

Supporting you, celebrating with you and sharing giggles.

"I don't care if you are pretty, I love you anyway!"

Kinda makes you laugh and cry at the same time but I love that quote from the movie.

#BlogLife198 - Did my boiler break up with me?

Me and my boiler have had a mostly harmonious relationship but there are times when it gives me the cold shoulder.

First I have the lost courier knocking and insisting this was the right address.

Crikey he was one house away, how do you bungle that up?? Yeesh!!

I stood there for a few minutes shivering and insisting he look at the address again which is clearly marked appropriately and he apologised.

I just rolled my eyes. I'm already freezing to death indoors, now you want me to get a bigger chill, outside? Go away!

Literally a minute or two later, another buzz. I'm thinking, you better have body armour because if that's the courier again..

I'm going to kill him! Turns out it was the repair guy. Thank you, it's now 12pm and I could have slept some more but no matter.

He asked me what the issue is and I think damn, don't you guys look at your notes because this is supposedly a big repair job..

The other guy took a video of the problem, what was the point? Plus he told me not to speak during, pffft!

I'm not feeling confident he'll be able to fix it. It seems he is lost and not calling up his supervisor to ask what this issue is.

He is just trying variations and I'm shivering away thinking. Oh no. He's going to leave and say it can't be repaired today.

Then he's telling me to shut off and switch back on the heating dial and he tries a multitude of things that are not working and I'm thinking I want to scream!!

Then I feel the air becoming warmer. I feel the radiator and it's producing heat but he's still frantically trying things and I tell him, well that's working at least.

He seems troubled and doesn't give me any reassurance it's permanently cured.

I'm getting more depressed and desperate and then at long last, he says it's almost done, soon I'll be out of here.

I'm gobsmacked!!! I had given up all hope but a miracle occurred and it's going to be alright!!

I have it on full but to put it in perspective. I still have the heated blanket on me because I'm that cold.

And why do they always leave their bulky garbage?? There's a bin outside, use it!

It took about 5 hours for me to stop shivering and I didn't want to take off the heating tonight, even though I am finally toasty.

I waited until the last minute and just after 10pm switched it off. I'm wiped out and will fingers crossed, have an easy time resting.

I've written some posts and have stuff to do. I should eat but maybe later..

I'm going to get on and then later I can curl up and watch Who's Harry Crumb with John Candy, hilarious.

Last night I was watching The Cheap Detective with Peter Falk, so many great pieces of dialogue.

I laughed so much. I needed something feelgood :)
