#BlogLife984 - Buffet style meals

As usual I took about 6 or 7 bags to greet the Iceland guy and he smiled and said, No I prefer packing them up for you.

So that was nice. As usual my appetite is up and down and I may not do traditional meals as such.

I might just throw a bunch of snacks together. I can't remember if Mama introduced me to these during our healthy snacks munchies.

But we used to cut up veggies, carrots, cucumbers and celery are my favourites. Whole olives and some sort of dip, hummus or salsa preferably.

Then we saw these stuffed peppers with cream cheese and they are so yummy. I know cream cheese isn't the best low fat option but we loved this array of goodies.

I saw them in Iceland, got some olives, the only thing I didn't get was the veggies and dip.

They don't have pre-sliced and I remembered from last time, my hands found that painful, so avoiding using a knife where possible.

As I was unpacking I popped the cheesy pepper in my mouth and usually, it's mild, this one was a lil fiery, so I had a lil coughy choking fit, ha, what a wimp, delicious though.

Either I will add them to the croissants to beef up the sandwich or pick on them solo.

I didn't fancy bread or crackers, so I bought croissants and am trying the Herta chicken frankfurters (10 x £2.85).

I've tried them before but I don't know if I liked them, for most of my life, I've had the veggie or vegan sausages but I have to change things up as I go off foods quickly.

I'll make hotissants, my creation of hotdog croissants, fabulous.

The thing that will stop it getting dry is the filling of cheese and onion sandwich filling.and the juicy olives.

I haven't had luck on the advents but that's ok, it's a bit of fun.

I'm not back to volunteering but I have popped on once or twice to respond to messages for those struggling.

It's kinda odd that I feel I don't need anyone but a random said, well that's how you've had to be, what if you let someone in?

And I thought......Hmm and be vulnerable? I don't think so bub.

I wonder if the hotdog is ready, for some reason, really hungry lol.

Maybe overcooked them but that was the taste I was looking for, I really like them, almost smoky. That is a winner.

I forgot to add, this is what I do, tear the croissants in half, (even that motion was painful to me).

Then pull apart the layers so there is a space and then stuff with sausage, maybe cheese, olives, maybe hummus, maybe stuffed pepper and it turns out so well.

I am so full. I just tried out La Boulangere croissants 6x £1.50 to me it's like a fake croissant, it doesn't taste flaky or fresh just doughy.

I do not recommend it. Iceland's luxury butter ones 4x £2 are much nicer. Lucky I bought both.

Aw they were sold out of the Haribo cola bottles, I just fancied something sweet to nibble but I got some cookies and the After Eight winter fondants..

Dark chocolate and mint, heavenly combination. I wish they were sold all year around.

#BlogLife906 - You giving me lip?

Another late start today but I'm not bothered. Sleep is still hard to come by.

I'm back to yawning all day, never quite feeling rested. Anyway checked the emails, the cherry lip balm just got refunded, no message, guess it was out of stock.

It's really bad service to not just add a note and say sorry about that.

Shish, do you not know how to correspond with potential customers??

I also got a message from the rude one who apologised for his snotty attitude, the sorting office is open til 12pm tomorrow and I'll be up to get the groceries so I can call them then.

I did just see a cute offer for a limited edition cranberry double pack lip balm set for £1.75 from Burt Bees and I'm sure I liked them before.

I haven't had that flavour. I can't recall what it was, maybe strawberry? It's a good deal though.

I didn't think I was going to enjoy that show Married At First Sight, but it's different, surprisingly interesting.

For reality, it's quite mild and tasteful. Obviously they throw in some entertaining drama and you think, holy moly no wonder some of them are single, no-one sane would put up with them!

Oh I'm quite astonished to have had a 4 day only period, normally it can be 7-14 days.

I was listening to the lighter period video but that normally only tames the symptoms.

I wouldn't be surprised if I had another one this month. I don't feel bloated anymore.

I didn't get the Burt Bees lippys nevermind will look for another cute flavour.

I just unpacked the groceries and managed to remember to call the sorting office, just got through before they closed.

If I'm honest, I called twice, the first time she asked for a reference or tracking number otherwise couldn't help.

I didn't think there was one, double checked and oops there is one.

Dialled up again and was told it's stuck somewhere and on the 9th July, they can claim for it and I'll get a refund.

Assuming it doesn't randomly turn up, ta-daaaaa! Highly doubtful.

It's lunchtime I should eat, so I'm cooking these mini veggie spring rolls I saw, there wasn't a chicken version otherwise I would have gotten that, the veggy stuff isn't bad though.

The heat isn't as intense but I still need the fan on all day and all night.

I feel very blah today but hopefully lining my tummy with a snack will help. I can't say I'm hungry, I'm doing it to wake up and have energy.

I just got back from my UC appointment, my usual advisor wasn't there and she said I cannot be forced onto a course, aka the coding if I'm not interested woop woop.

But then she mentioned other ones and volunteering so I'll eventually look into that but not now as I'm drained.

My stomach is flip-flopping, ranging between cramps and nausea.

Why the hell do I have daily pmt symptoms now?? It's no longer limited to periods. I just feel like crap.

I'm too tired to move much so I ordered salmon avocado sushi. I was temped by the tuna but all of them seem so spicy so I didn't bother, I got the discount though.

#BlogLife677 - Is Nando's worth a trip?

I've just done the last of the beauty treatments, trimmed my hair, manicured my nails, shaping and filing them and done the hair removal, ha, you'd think I was getting ready for a date..

I'm back to feeling stressed, I think it's the thought of more strangers invading my home, for when they install the smart meter and run the checks, it just gives me an eerie feeling.

I ordered some slippers yesterday, they had some adorable shades, a purply blue one and the red was a favourite and not a colour I often see, so I went ahead with that one.

I can't tell what the insides are like but it would be nice if it was soft fake fur like the outsides.

The weather continues to be hot and cold but they predict a heatwave soon, I hope they are wrong as usual about that but we shall see, I still have ice poles and the kulfi lollies in stock.

Actually I'm already missing the clotted cream one, I might get that one this weekend.

I want to sweep and mop the floors but I cannot for the life of me locate my pan and brush, I guess if I don't see it soon, after the weekend will just get another set from the market next week.

I try to keep things in the same place but sometimes I have to move them around when there is a lack of space.

Ahh the plans have changed again, looks like it will be next Thursday that me, Mama and her friend go for pedicures, brows maybe and lunch at Nando's.

Hmm not really keen on them but it's been years so maybe they have begun to season their food properly, plus be polite to their customers.

I hate bland and rude service, it's totally off-putting, but they seem keen to go and it will be interesting to have a change of menu.

I hope it's not too spicy

#BlogLife614 - Where am I spending Christmas?

Song of the day - Bindley Benjamin - SOS To Santa

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr_CaSsFNLA&list=PLC743C3F57E46E499&index=49

Mama finally got back to me and said it will just be us for the holiday festivities woop!

It's such a good feeling to have an answer.

So that's it. I'm definitely off on Friday to her place which is in the UK also.

You didn't really think I was going to narrow down the precise destination did you?

Grins, that's not really me, the blogger you somewhat know and tolerate ha!

Ugh the flipping neighbours won't silence themselves.

Either it's a domestic, a loud call, kids or somebody wandering around being noisy at 2.30amish.

Mama's got the sniffles unfortunately. I told her to keep hydrated and rest up.

She didn't sound great so I'm hoping it quickly passes and she's more herself and happier.

I don't really buy or take medications any longer.

I rely on binaural beats and/or essential oils.

I don't recall ever having a flu jab. What I do is continually use the antibacterial hand sanitizers as soon as I return indoors.

Plus purchase antibacterial hand-wash and that's basically it.

The peppermint is good for cold, flu and cough symptoms.

Which is what I used to sprinkle on a tissue or on my pillow.

However the lemon one blows it out of the water.

I felt stuffy or had a lil cough or the minor sniffles and liberally doused the pillows with the lemon..

Next day I felt completely normal and cured so I wanted to get Mama some but because of Christmas they might arrive late.

I don't think she has any. She swears by ginger water or tea I'm not sure.

I think the oils will benefit her though.

I got lemon and then lavender to relax her and help her sleep.

I can't stand that scent but she likes it. Eucalyptus was an option also but I was drawn to the lavender.

She's not an insomniac like me. She sleeps fairly easily but sometimes can't drift off or can't get back to sleep.

Maybe these two oils will be a boost to her routine.

*Holds hand up guiltily*

The Ferreros didn't make it. They just looked too yummy and my snack rations were dwindling.

I ate both packets, not at the same time, separate occasions.

It's something I'll consume once or twice a year only, even though it's a favourite.

Chocolate is too moreish. I tend to stick to the low calorie versions.

Typically the Fibre One range or Iceland's Skinny or Bliss or whatever they keep changing it too.

I miss the mint chocolate one, that was tasty. I haven't watched Muppet Christmas Carol that's on the Christmas binge list.

If there's humour and some heartfeltness in the film that's normally a winning combination for me.

I do particularly enjoy the writer/foodie films and Yes Chef Christmas was a good one.

#BlogLife520 - Slip into something comfy

I'm not sure how long I've had the red slippers, I think it might have been a year or just under but they need replacing now.

I feel like they are about to come apart so I spotted a blue pair on Shoezone for £7 and I paid the additional £2 for Saturday delivery as there are less headaches when it's tracked.

(This was before I knew, they put the wrong address on it and it was returned grr).

The ebay ones were good but too heavy, I'm hoping these are lighter but sturdy too.

It's lunchtime but I'm not tired enough to nap sadly. Oh lil tip for you.

Sometimes like today my hair stays plastered to my face, even in the wind.

If there is time I will tousle volume into it but occasionally I'm running late so for the first time I did it at the bus stop to the bewilderment of queuers.

I looked like a monkey scratching her mane. I shall not be doing that again....

I think it will probably loosen up when I sleep. It's a heavily nauseated day so I bought some fizzy drinks.

Pret had fizzy apple, plus a grape and elderflower with citrus added. I'm not a fan of elderflower but thankfully this is tasty.

I guess today might as well be a cheat day but I don't tend to be rigid, I'm flexible with naughty munchie days.

I popped into my International retailer and picked up more raw hazelnuts and almonds. It's just basically unsalted, which is healthier.

I don't know if they are roasted or not but I just like snacking on them randomly.

I was going to peruse for dried fruit but I already felt my energy depleting so I picked up the pace.

I saw this sinful looking chocolate and vanilla cake for £2.50 for 6 pieces that looked amazing and I bought it.

I am trying to buy less sugary snacks but I think pmt is demanding sweet treats.

I also bought sour cream and dil crisps and that was it. Breakfast or lunch will be the avocado and egg mini baguette that is perfection from Pret.

Yesterday the purple top arrived but I was too tired to open it. I wore it today though and again, it almost seems fitted.

I'm still getting used to wearing my actual size and showing my true, bigger than average figure.

However this top in particular because it is a low V neck, made me reminisce about my younger days. wearing tight clothes that I could get away with because I was quite slender.

The top isn't tight on me but it's the perfect size. the sleeves are fantastically long. It's not too thick or thin.

And it's a beautiful light playful purple that has a pattern different to the normal and I adore unusual styles.

It's hard to explain how I feel except to say that it's as though I've lost more weight just by dressing better.

The sun is too harsh for me to shrink into the background with multiple layers so I have to dress minimally and I do feel comfortable and tailored.

Nothing is on display, not bra, not arms or legs but there is a sexiness in daring to bare your unique shape, no matter what it is.

For some of us, it's easy, it's a routine but for others, we take our time, try it indoors, by ourselves or with friends and family and see their reactions first.

Have fun experimenting and creating your own sensational look. You can gather opinions but only your view matters, if you love it, that is the bottom line.

When you next look in the mirror and say Ugh, I hate this, that. why can't I be like so and so..?!

Change it too, Hmm, you know, that's actually a pretty colour on me. Or I never realised that particular feature is stunning.

Celebrate your loveliness. I see it in you, now see it in yourself :)

#BlogLife199 - I'm covered in bbq sauce

Ha I know that's a weird title and it's not what you think... I haven't been up to anything saucy :D

It's just been a long day and it's only just gone 2pmish. I eventually got to sleep last night and woke up before my alarm and got ready.

I do not recommend cold air from a fan after you've gotten out of a hot shower. Brrr today is freezing.

I kept trying to check the bus timetable for going into town and it wouldn't work so I updated the app and there was still an error.

I popped outside and turns out..........Roadworks are happening. They love love love our street, every few months like clockwork.

Good job I hadn't missed any I don't think, slowly trekked to the next one and caught it and it was nice and empty, yay :)

I picked up a vitamin c face wash, hair bobbles, those crisps that I'm addicted too.

I'm sad they didn't have the cheese version or they did but it was right at the back and I couldn't reach and wasn't bothered to ask someone.

And lastly a hotdog, fries and a chicken mayo wrap for tonight. The hotdog is smothered in bbq sauce and I somehow got it everywhere, hands, arms and face but it was lush and I'm stuffed.

My body is so stiff from all that walking that I can't even move straight, I keep tipping over and judging by my yawns, I may just crash out and nap.
